Truly, has Kate ever met a lace or lace-adjacent gown she did not buy? This — a new number from McQueen — is DEEPLY in her Formalwear Wheelhouse. This whole look is sort of Classic Middleton and thus I find it rather relaxing, if unsurprising.
It moves nicely (and the back of it is sort of surprisingly sexy for her):

I’m sad Wills didn’t take this opportunity to pop out in some over-the-top embroidered Gucci number, but you know. Man fashion baby steps.
(ALSO: We’ve discussed this a bit in the comments on last week’s Royals Round-Up, and in this morning’s post about The Crown, but feel free to let loose about Prince Andrew’s absolutely apocalyptically bad BBC interview here if you like, as well. He cannot continue to undertake royal duties.)
