Lord knows I think Naeem Khan is a genius with a pattern. This one is no exception:
I admit to being mildly surprised that a state dinner didn’t get a long gown, BUT: It’s been rainy, and a bunch of other ladies seemed to be there in cocktail-length skirts and such, so this dinner might not have been as formal as the one the White House just threw for the Canadians (and the President isn’t in black tie). And certainly she still looks DRESSY, and I doubt she went into this thing without a complete briefing on what was expected. And this way, her hem doesn’t have to get wet dragging on the ground. SOLD.
I just love that fabric, basically. I approve. I yearn.
