I keep imagining that this is a snapshot of moment from a fanfic wherein Lady Edith somehow trips over a dog and falls into a wormhole out in an abandoned field at Downton and winds us traveling through space and time, only to land in another creative property, wherein she and Gone Girl’s Amy Dunne strike up a friendship that’s based primarily on Amy enacting brutal revenge on anyone Edith feels has thwarted her.
The last act of said fanfic would focus — obviously — on the epic revenge duel between Amy and Lady Mary and I must confess that I feel like Mary comes out of that one ahead. But just barely. Obviously, everyone wears cute patterned dresses throughout, but that’s just a bonus.
