Well, these were eventful indeed: Jade Carey’s heartbreak on the vault turned into triumph on the floor, MyKayla Skinner grabbed a silver, and Simone Biles was cleared to compete on the bean and pulled in a bronze that she says means as much to her if not more than any of her others. But, like so many other events in this Olympics, we also had some medalists from countries I didn’t see coming — Belgium, Brazil, Italy, and a TIE for bronze on the floor. MEDALS FOR EVERYONE.
