Vera Farmiga is back on TV in Five Days at Memorial, a 2013 book about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina (“Memorial” is a New Orleans hospital) that Ryan Murphy originally intended to adapt for an American Crime Story season. He decided instead to let it lapse, which I think was wise, and so Carlton Cuse of Lost and Bates Motel fame developed it for Apple TV. Early reviews compare it to Chernobyl, and say it’s distressing and challenging in the right kind of ways. If you’re not ready to tackle it… well, understandable. You can behold Vera Farmiga in this red ensemble, appreciate that the whole rainbow is represented here, and then stop and do some deep cleansing breaths.
