A portion of the Downton downstairs crew swung by Hello Dolly’s premiere to support Imelda Staunton, the real-life spouse of our Mr. Carson: We have Sophie McShera (Daisy), Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes/Carson), and Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore), all there with Jim Carter and his and Imelda’s daughter Bessie. You might recall she is Prudence Featherington-Dankworth on Bridgerton, and while I am into her stompy boots, the dress looks like something she had to wear because she lost a bet to Polly Walker. However, I find it heartwarming and charming that these folks all turn up with and for each other.
We also had a visit from one of the Ted Lassos. Sadly not the whole team. Just the owner:
This is all fine, but she seems to be trying something… flatter? … with her hair. Or straighter, or just slightly different in a way that unfortunately comes off like she stuck her head under the hand-dryer for an emergency hit of heat.
