We cannot remake Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; I won’t allow it. That is a perfect movie. But in this outfit, Diane is DEFINITELY serving Woman of Mystery Who May or May Not Be a Grifter. She needs to cross paths, and maybe swords, with, say, Chris Pine, or Rege-Jean Page, or Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Maybe all three of them in a continental polyamory romp that involves a LOT of convertibles along the coast and great hotel balconies. And a cameo for George Clooney because if this were 2004, he would be in this movie with Rene Russo.
