Let me just announce, with complete certainty, that I will go see this movie. Top Gun was VERY influential for Gen X; no movie was watched more obsessively at slumber parties when I was in junior high. (Dirty Dancing a close second, of course.) Additionally: Tom Cruise arrived at this event via literal helicopter, which is very chill and relaxed, as is his wont. I am surprised he wasn’t piloting it. Anyway, Alexa, play “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins! Who was present, although Val Kilmer — who does reprise his role as Iceman!!! — was not. Ed Harris also chose to do something else last night. Maybe they were hanging out!
