The People’s Choice Awards maybe need to throw this party at a less busy time of the year. It’s not that NOBODY came, but there was a concentration of winners that didn’t, and this is a show that absolutely alerts people in advance. Taylor Swift’s tour schedule can’t be helped, obviously, but other no-shows included Travis Kelce (he won Athlete of the Year for obvious reasons, and even he expressed disbelief) Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, Bad Bunny, Khloe Kardashian, Jenna Ortega, and Pedro Pascal, probably among several others. Jennifer Aniston bailed on the red carpet but showed up inside, a photo we don’t have available to us in our sub, but I promise, she’s in a little black dress and looks exactly as you imagine. And in general it’s such a weird, rigged-feeling situation — like, tell me how Drama Show of the Year is the Last of Us, and Comedy Show of the Year is Only Murders in the Building, but Show of the Year overall is… neither of them? That honor went to Grey’s Anatomy, whose cast CLEARLY knew or else would not have shown up in nearly its entirety. SHRUG.
