This is the turn-of-the-century film where Sandra Bullock is a free-spirited something or other, and Ben Affleck is — and I had to look this up on Wikipedia — “a ‘blurb’ writer responsible for writing the short introductions on the sleeves of hardcover books.” Okay, so he works for a publisher? (This is not a job that someone would have that was their ONLY responsibility, but it is FOR SURE the kind of job people have in movies.) Also, that’s not a blurb. A blurb is “I loved this book and couldn’t put it down” that goes on the cover. Ben is writing FLAP COPY.Ā  Listen, there’s no better use of my time than nit-picking tiny details of a 1999 Sandra Bullock/Ben Affleck rom-com that I have technically never seen! Unless it is bringing you that rom-com’s red carpet, at which we learn once again that, seriously, EVERYONE loves Sandra Bullock.
