The Gold Gala is a new event, created to honor the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community, and specifically award some cultural and societal ambassadors within their fields. The inaugural choices included Mindy Kaling, Michelle Yeoh, Chloe Kim, Henry Golding, and Simu Liu — who wasn’t present, sadly, but luckily pretty much everyone else on the starry guest list turned up and turned it out. I hope you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a relative lack of snark for once, because I think almost everyone looks great and I’m not sorry about it.
