I was surprised at the number of pictures we had from The Empire Strikes Back’s 1980 premiere, which was in London, until I realized it’s because of the presence of one Princess Margaret (the royals photography available on Shutterstock is outstanding). I’m not sure specifically why she was deployed — Wills and Harry went to The Last Jedi’s premiere, so maybe the royals are hot for middle movies in the trilogy — but I like to imagine that Margs sat at home with a marg watching A New Hope on repeat for years and thinking to herself, “I cannot brook with Mr. Vader escaping the consequence of his butchery. I’ll need a ticket to the next one posthaste.”
