We thought it made sense to kick things off with the contenders, beginning with the women who were up for Best Actress. If I had been asked which of these women was most likely to bust out a pattern of any kind, Frances McDormand might’ve been my last pick? I know she just did one at the BAFTAs, but somehow this still felt like a surprise.
