Rooney and Kate Mara are in Werner Herzog’s latest, Bucking Fastard, roughly based on the true story of two horny twin sisters who live their lives in tandem — and apparently the sisters also deliver all their lines that way. This is a large oversimplification of what I read about the plot; the takeaways seem to be that you’ll either be really into it, or hate it, and it probably depends on your tolerance level for Herzog’s brand of weird. I have to hand it to the filmmakers who stick to their guns and make what they’re into, rather than pandering for wider commercial appeal. But at some point it sounds like they… try to dig a tunnel to a place they think they’ll find true love? As usual, women are stuck doing ALL the work.
