Elle’s Women of the Year awards are fully centered this year on the stars of movies that are in the awards conversation — or should be, or wish they were. We have Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti, of One Battle After Another; Emily Blunt, of The Smashing Machine; Rose Byrne, of If I Had Legs I’d Kick You; Jessie Buckley of Hamnet; Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, and Hailee Steinfeld of Sinners; Renate Reinsve of Sentimental Value; and Jennifer Aniston, of, well, The Morning Show, I guess, which breaks the pattern, but she’s also more of an all-star in this situation. Hailee Steinfeld didn’t come to this one, presumably because she’s at home dissecting the Buffalo Bills’ uneven offense with her husband Josh Allen while also dropping a few notes about their defensive shortcomings, so thank goodness we had the other nine.
