The soap slideshows both delight me and make me sad, because I see all the faces of people who made the genre and its many hours their life’s work, and most of them have been obliterated. Honestly, I’d watch reruns of almost all of them. I do not need another talk show or cooking hour. I need ERICA KANE and Reva being cloned and Vicky/Marley on Another World and Julianne Moore playing twins on As The World Turns and the Salem Strangler and Viki Lord’s many personalities and people being sucked into Hell on Passions. How else will The Youngs know? Will we rely on oral histories? “Kids, sit down and let me tell you about the time T.C. had a shed.”
