Shania is starring as KJ Apa’s mother in I Still Believe, a true-story movie about a Christian singer whose wife died of cancer four months after their wedding. He’s married again now, so I gather it’s a film about the power of love and healing and whatnot. In her other two major acting credits — Broad City and I Heart Huckabees — she played versions of herself, so this seems new for her, if also less likely to result in her putting her hands on her hip and spitting, “Well. That don’t impress me much.” But we can hope.
