I’d be remiss if I didn’t say this could have been funnier — the original had a latex balaclava, and let’s be honest, if Rita didn’t personally want to try it then I think Taika Waititi absolutely would have. But it’s still pretty amusing, if not perhaps in a way the designer would take as a compliment. She looks like a character in Beauty in the Beast whom the curse turned into a rococo throw pillow, and she didn’t quite get put back to her old self.
