Back in January, I wrote a post called “Sometimes, I Just Really Feel Like We Should Look at a WEIRD-ASS Fashion Show,” and it was by this same Belgian designer, Walter van Beirendonck, who is noted for being part of a gang of six noteworthy graduates of Antwerp’s fashion school (two others: Dries Van Noten and Ann Demeulemeester). This one is not as weird, but it’s not NOT weird. His theme this time was “DAWLEETOO,” named after a lost city that British explorer Alfred Isaac Middleton was seeking when he disappeared. When I inevitably go, I hope Jessica tells everyone that I vanished while exploring a remote part of the world because I found proof of an undiscovered civilization: FUGTOPIA. Where they probably wear a lot of these clothes, including the suffocating plastic bags printed with skeletons. Designers: Do NOT give people silly ideas about where to stick their heads!
