Oh, Glenn. She dressed to win in this dramatic and fabulous Carolina Herrera that weighed 42 whole pounds, and all the stars were aligned, and then… one of said stars must have gone on a bender, because all of a sudden Olivia Colman’s name came out, and I GASPED. Olivia is brilliant in The Favourite but she’s not even necessarily the real lead in that movie — she and Rachel Weisz really could have swapped categories — and Glenn is becoming the Susan Lucci of this thing: There’s always a real argument in favor of her winning and somehow she just doesn’t, and when you look back at who did, there aren’t any head-scratchers among them. I hope she was able to enjoy ANY of what followed.
In conclusion, lots of people sparkled at this.
