An eternity ago, Jessica and I shot a show for UK and Canadian TV, for which they had a stylist in L.A. pull clothes for us to bring (it was a lot of episodes). It wasn’t until we arrived to set in Ottawa that we learned we’d be sitting on black chairs, and half the stuff the stylist grabbed was either black or navy, so we’d have blended right in and looked like floating heads. The producers freaked out, and basically sent a PA to Banana Republic with the instructions to BUY IT ALL. All of which is to say: Rachel here is Exhibit A for why styling teams should get a heads-up from event planners. My sad old eyes can’t tell where her pants stop and the backdrop begins, which means the outfit is NOT getting its optimal showcase.
