In Love Island parlance, a bombshell is a man or woman who enters the show at any point after it begins — so, not one of the first 10-12 contestants. They’re brought on to disrupt whatever is already cooking, hence “bombshell” becoming something of a verb here as well. Maura was apparently a legendary bombshell on Love Island UK’s fifth season, and has parlayed that into hosting and guest gigs on variety of shows, and is currently on The Traitors. All of which is to say, I think Maura is applying Big Bomshell Entrance Energy to the pavement of New York City.
