This is one of those rare instances, I think, where a dress looks better in action than you’d think. Elizabeth’s Erdem dress looks sort of weirdly wrinkled and stiff if you look at it on Matches — I’m not sure that I’d click on this and think, “I MUST spend $3900 on this dress!” — but Elizabeth looks sort of fantastic. Her whole look is very Easter Sunday at Downton, and that’s an aesthetic I am willing to entertain. Margot, on the other hand, just makes me laugh. She’s so GLEEFUL and the jacket on her (Chanel) suit is so oversized and she’s so much shorter than Elizabeth that she sort of looks like a small child who got to wear Mommy’s blazer to meet Mommy’s very glamorous friend who’s down from London for the weekend.
