Under the Bridge could be a tough watch — it’s based on the true crime novel about the murder of a 14-year old Canadian girl, Reena Virk, at the hands of bullies. The book is from 2005, and Reese Witherspoon bought the rights in 2007, but it stalled out and then the IP bounced around until now. So that gives you an idea how long it can take to get something off the ground. And, that time meant it ended up in Lily Gladstone’s capable hands, so that’s a win for the material.
