First off, this is a good place to note that one of Amy Odell’s newsletters this week was about Kate Hudson, and all the vague “wellness” stuff she’s trying to sell us, and it’s quite a good read. It’s also how I know that Kate has been out and about promoting a new face mask (the cosmetic kind, not the keep-your-germs-in kind) and here is where I tell you that I am writing this post at 4:46pm on Thursday in Los Angeles and so I haven’t seen this episode of Colbert yet but…she can’t be on The Late Show promoting a face mask, right? I guess it’s 2022 and anything is possible. Maybe Stephen has terribly clogged pores and it’s an emergency. (Face Masks With Stephen Colbert is, in fairness, a feature I would enjoy, also.) Whatever she’s plugging, I need to be fair and note that this look is cute on her. She looks like she’s a young, mid-level ’80s socialite who is about to tell you something absolutely scandalous she heard while she was hiding in the dressing room at Bergdorf’s, and who eventually invites you over to her house for New Year’s Eve, where you find out that it was decorated by Darryl Hannah’s character in Wall Street. And, to be frank, I don’t hate this journey for us.
