I gather this is a grants banquet, in which the HFPA gives a bunch of money to various charities to promote diversity. For as much as we like to make fun of the HFPA goofballs who make the Golden Globes so deliciously unpredictable and also probably paid-for (at least in the TV categories), this is lovely and worth noting and very timely indeed.
