Antebellum is another movie that got knocked off its trajectory by Covid, but is being released on-demand this weekend. It’s a psychological horror flick starring Janelle Monae as a woman who gets abducted back into a 19th century plantation, and has to figure out how to escape it. I’m sure it’s crushing to all these filmmakers to have theaters off the table — or, mostly, anyway — but at least the silver lining is that when Janelle Monae shows up to promote something, she does not half-ass it.
