It sure seemed like Jessie Buckley was going to cruise her way to wins at all of these, but then Rose Byrne started creeping into the conversation. I haven’t seen Hamnet, but I did see If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Rose is tremendous in it so the buzz isn’t unwarranted. Maybe the different voting deadlines will shake things up a little, but Jessie got the first notch on her belt. And thus she kicks off our black-and-white outfits from the Critics Choice Awards.
