We saw the swanky front-row crowd from this Dior show last week, and to be frank, not that many of them looked great. The runway collection, presented in Venice and as a collaboration with a California designer, is supposed to feel West Coast Chill — the tip-off was the words “California Couture” stitched into several sweatshirts — and at times it does. Some of the colors are snazzy, and apart from the giant DIOR logo, I even like some of the sweaters. But in other moments, it’s like someone dumped a bunch of fabric from on high and hoped it would work as pants.
