It has been a BUSY ROYAL WEEKEND, between this and all the Wimbledon.
This is Meghan’s first public evening outing since Archie was born, and she went for a ’50s-feeling Jason Wu gown that I think is very fetching on her. It feels somewhat I Am A Chic And Gorgeous Widow Who Is Still Managing To Have A Great Time in Paris Even If I Am In Mourning, an aesthetic of which I am a fan. (The top is a teensy bit snug, but from what I understand, that shit is complicated when you’ve just had a baby.) (It’s also still for sale on Far Fetch, if you need to achieve said aesthetic for whatever reason.) I do, as ever, wish for bigger jewelry, but Meghan has not been a Wearer of Giant Jewels thus far and it’s just something I’m going to have to accept. Her shoes are bejeweled, though, and they’re excellent; even Elton John apparently liked them, which does seem on-brand for him. (They’re Aquazzura, of course.) In general, these photos are very cute — it’s been a Very Charming Royal Weekend for the younger set — so let’s take a closer look, shall we?
