Congratulations, everyone, we made it to another Gift Guide! We’re running this annual post a little earlier than usual this year, because Hanukkah starts on November 28. (And because we’re all possibly going to run into supply chain issues; J.Crew, in fact, already has some of their new items on backorder.) Given all that, it’s probably good advice to also do some local shopping, if you can, and to think about giving folks things like museum memberships, which don’t need to travel by boat. (Also, people love museum memberships!) In the same vein, it might be an ideal year to give local friends and family gift certificates to restaurants/the spa/your favorite nail place/the fancy grocery store. (And if you’re looking for stocking stuffers, frankly you cannot go wrong by popping down to the gas station and buying a bunch of Scratchers.) And, as always, if you have suggestions for small stores to shop — please share them in the comments! Happy shopping and a blessed opening to the holiday season; someone cue up Mariah Carey!

PS: If you want to catch up on/get inspiration from previous Gift Guides, they all live here! All of our shopping posts are herethe one about advent calendars might be useful right now, ditto the salute to flannel.

Like most websites, GFY uses affiliate links where available, which means we earn a little money if you click through and buy something. We can assure you that all items were personally chosen while we sat around drinking wine and watching Melrose Place.
