We originally ran this slideshow after Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death (it was an expansion of one we’d written even earlier, just as a general tribute to his sartorial derring-do). But with his birthday passing over the weekend, it felt apt to run it again, just to remember one more time what a shining star he was — his presence, his intelligence, his talent, and yeah, his artistry when it came to the red carpet.
This tribute from Marvel was really emotional:

And Viola Davis, his co-star in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom — a film that will likely net them both Oscar nods — posted this:
Happy birthday in Heaven, Chadwick! You are still so alive to me!! I love you pic.twitter.com/TBhQlpIaRl

When I went to copy the embed code, I accidentally almost clicked on “Block Viola Davis.” No. I NEVER WANT TO BLOCK VIOLA DAVIS. Twitter ought to know that.
