Happy Friday, everyone! I hope this week treated you well.

This week at Drinks With Broads, we found a villa across the lake from George Clooney! (And reviewed Superman.) Also, there’s a fresh Enter Through the Gift Shop via my Italian vacation, I NEED to talk to people about The Waterfront, and we all also need everyone to chill.

We also bring you fresh recaps! This episode of And Just Like That was maybe not AS terrible as previous ones? And The Gilded Age brought us the WEDDING OF THE CENTURY (per Bertha, anyway).

And here at GFY,  we had a lot going on! We covered both the All Star Gameand all the celebs who showed up for the final weekend of Wimbledon, of which there were MANY. Sporty! (We also tacked the ESPYs.)

We also got deep into the Emmy nominees. (As I said at DWB, I feel for Leslie Bibb.)

And we looked at the best of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale; as I noted on Monday, I do think the beauty deals are legit good this time, especially on stuff you know you love and will want to rebuy. (Like, there’s a lot of Clinique, or if you need a big bottle of your Kiehl’s shampoo.)

ELSEWHERE!

I cannot WAIT to read this new bio of Gwyneth Paltrow, by our friend Amy Odell. We’re talking to Amy for DWB about it in a few days, let me know if you have any questions!

Talk about clickbait for ME SPECIFICALLY: Julia, Gwyneth, and a long-awaited gossip matchup

Technically this is also clickbait for me specifically, as I am always interested in Wig Drama: Official Tina Turner wig recalled amid fan backlash. I need a much longer, reported story about what happened here.

I also want you to see Freddie Prinze Jr and SMG being cute together still, ICYMI. (Okay, that’s still here at GFY and not elsewhere.)

One of you sent this in to us — thank you!!! It is so fascinating. At the Manly Things (Sort of) podcast: I Styled Superman for His Press Tour.

Also a reader submission and it is a wow: Phantom, Transformed: A First Look at the Costumes of New York’s Immersive Masquerade

The big ME + EM sale is still percolating. It’s maybe for the best that my size (and only my size!) is sold out of this dress because I WANT IT.

I didn’t really pay attention to the ESPYs telecast at all but this all sounds very yikes: Shane Gillis Bombed as Host of the ESPYs.

Perfect: The Em Dash Responds to the AI Allegations

WOW: “Kenya’s Most Famous Safari Destination Has a New Luxe Lodge — and It’s Set in a Treehouse.”

This is so good, and poignant: The Untold History of Carolyn Bessette and Her Best Friend, Gordon Henderson

I need to pick up this book: “The Once and Future Condé Nast: A new book about the magazine conglomerate’s glorious past puts its current predicaments in a fresh light.” (My TBR is insane right now.)

Do you need jeans? We have a Frame code! It’s DWB15 for 15% off. (I have these and I LOVE them. I think they run a little big.)

Clueless is 30, and still the greatest.

Related — and thank you to the reader who sent this in (we had so many good reader suggestions this week!): When ‘Clueless’ Made Movie Fashion History

And ICYMI when we covered it back in 2020: The Clueless premiere!

The NYT finds out: Does Benadryl Do More Harm Than Good? (This is why I only take it like twice a year.)

Good stuff: The History of The Onion You Didn’t Know You Needed

ALSO good stuff: “The Perfect Pairing for Your ‘And Just Like That’ Rage: While we all ponder why we keep watching, here are some reminders about what made “Sex and the City” truly great.”

I was just tootling around the big Saks sale again and PSA: They’ve got some Dyson marked down, both vacuums AND airwraps. (Also some room fans? Dyson is really all in on things that blow air, I guess.) The handbag selection is also really pretty good. (I do not know if any of you needs a clutch with a raffia lobster on it, but the markdown on this is great. I told you lobsters are having a moment! I honestly think it’s adorable, and would buy if it I were getting married in Maine.)

This is a fascinating piece — full disclosure, it’s long, so I’m only partially done with it: Conversations with a Hit Man

YES. I’ve long been OBSESSED with this apartment: Restaurateur Keith McNally tells the story of his New York apartment.

Speaking of apartments…there’s a lot going on here: “Amy Sedaris’s guest apartment, a floor above her own, has a ‘full-tilt gingham’ bedroom and a surprise in the fireplace.”

Oh god now we’ve got a tariff on TOMATOES?!?! I can’t live like this.

I gotta stop buying linen shirts!! But this one is so cute and reasonable AND I don’t have a short sleeved one!! (I’m also tempted by this tank. J.Crew stopped making my favorite linen tanks!)

A fascinating Reddit thread (thanks to the reader who send this in, too!): To all the guys that served overseas in places like the Middle East and Afghanistan: Did you guys ever enjoy the local cultural cuisine? If yes, what was your most memorable moment? (I fixed the grammar from the original title.) A lot of people fondly remembering flatbread. (Do not read if you don’t also want to hear about people getting food poisoning. Most of them didn’t regret it!)

Wow: Underwater Archaeologists Were Looking for a Lost Shipwreck in Wisconsin. They Stumbled Upon a Different Vessel Instead.

I enjoyed this round-up! Colorful Style Under $200
