Welcome to the first Fugs & Pieces of 2026! Hope your first “real” week of the year treated you right. Ours had a strange end, as you may have noticed the site has been up and down all day. Ideally it’s just throwing a pre-Globes tantrum and will be back in working order shortly, if it’s not already.

We’re really back into the swing of things around these parts; if you missed any of our coverage of the Critics Choice Awards, you can catch up with all of that here! The Golden Globes are coming up THIS Sunday, so Monday here will be really busy. We’re also hosting our first live chat of the year at Drinks With Broads, and it’s going to be super fun — this is a perk for paid subscribers, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, now really is the time!

Also at Drinks With Broads this week: We’re recapping Heated Rivalry! The first recap is right here. We also watched the Critics Choice Awards so you don’t have to, and… there might be a Bennifer 3.0? Plus, Este Haim’s wedding, Venus Williams’s wedding, and Heather takes on the first slate of Oscar films. And, last but now least – your recap of this season of Emily in Paris.

Also here at GFY, we talked about cute activewear! And we covered everyone’s favorite cleaning supplies! (Talk about two chats with New Year energy.)

Congrats to our friends at Lainey Gossip for their site redesign! It looks great. This is a good piece about the new Jen Garner interview in Elle UK.

Fun: The Font Detectives. You know how we feel about fonts!

This is a great discussion at Ask a Manager about keeping email under control. I used to be extremely Inbox Zero but around…2022? For no real reason? I just didn’t do it anymore and now I have a truly psychotic number of unread emails. I’m talking like five figures worth. (I get a lot of random email, a lot of these are like THIS FANCY HOTEL IS HAVING A SALE.)

Speaking of fancy hotels, this is a fun piece about Chateau Marmont (and includes pics of Jacob Elordi’s VERY cute dog).

PSA: If you’ve been looking for a Dyson Airwrap, it’s marked way down at QVC but today only — January 9. I love mine. (Heather has been using the Shark version because it comes with a diffuser as well; it’s not on sale but usually costs less than the Dyson. Either way, the “price per use” logic is coming in very handy.)

PSA number 2: If you’re a fan of U Beauty, the brand is now available at Sephora! I really like their resurfacing serum, but I’m (of course) tempted by their neck cream. Nora Ephron was right about necks.

Love this piece about becoming a regular at a restaurant. Can attest that being a regular somewhere is GREAT. You get to know the waitstaff, and it’s such a nice part of being part of a community.

If you’re watching the figure skating this weekend — or getting ready for the Olympics! — I must once again recommend The Nice Capades! The rhythm dance theme for ice dance this year is 90s music and IT IS SO FUN, you guys.
