This event happened smack between the Met Gala and the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, on a weekend that also encompassed Duchess Kate landing on the cover of British Vogue and new photos of Princess Charlotte, so…yeah, I totally couldn’t be bothered to care until now. THAT SAID:
I actually love this. It’s bright and cheery and perfect for what is essentially a children’s event. Do I wish the sequins went all the way around?
Normally, I would say yes, but the way the pattern bleeds onto the back feels smart and charming, and kicky. I’m not sure if I would have gone for the fishnets myself (although I actually love fishnets), but that seems like a small nit to pick on what is overall a very amusing endeavor by Gwen.
