This cover is so unexpectedly charming — unexpected for Vogue, I mean, not for Emma, who certainly always seems like a person with a sense of humor, judging from their red carpet forays. And also from this shot in the editorial:

Emma Corrin Vogue August Editorial-1657131852

I know they didn’t style said editorial, but a lot of actors would not agree to that ensemble. They are a very good model; I was somewhat surprised. They could easily have done that professionally rather than acting.

The profile is interesting and well-done, and speaking of the red carpet, Corrin notes that SWINTON is a sartorial inspiration, which makes sense. Definitely pop over there to read the entire thing, because there’s so much I could have pulled to share here, but Vogue only lets us excerpt 100 words. To wit:

For the 2022 Met Gala, Corrin wore a custom Miu Miu coat and top hat inspired by the 1880s New York socialite Evander Berry Wall, who was commonly known as “the King of Dudes.” The outfit was masculine, but also foppish and historically inclined and just the slightest bit silly, sending a clear message about how Corrin wanted to be perceived on that night. As a queer, nonbinary actor in Hollywood, Corrin was never going to blend in, but their Met Gala look felt like a love letter to standing out.

They also reveal they are a fan of Selling Sunset, which is DELIGHTFUL to me. Delights abound!

Vogue’s August 2022 issue is available on newsstands nationwide on July 19th.
