Whatever else happens in season 6 of The Crown, we know it’s going to cover Diana’s death — interesting ground to tread, given that Peter Morgan already did it when he wrote The Queen. But this one involves Diana herself, and I will say that however underwhelming I find The Crown in general, Jessica was correct all those years ago when she started beating the drum for an Elizabeth Debicki casting. She is the spitting image of Diana, but never in a way that feels imitative, or like caricature. And now, post-strike, she’s practically the only person who came over for the premiere. The rest of the fake Royal Family stayed home, except for the kid and adult versions of William and Harry, and Meg Bellamy, who plays Kate. Oh, whoops, Jonathan Pryce came, too, but I didn’t get a picture of him. He looks like Jonathan Pryce. (And still nothing like Philip.)
