It’s not that I think Maria Grazia Chiuri is sitting around thinking about how to tie her couture work in to The New Look, which premieres in a week or so on Apple TV. But there’s no way Dior as a business isn’t aware it’s coming, and when — witness its stars together in the front row — and so maybe it’s NOT a coincidence that this collection purports to revisit and reimagine the La Cigale dress from the 50s, an influential piece of work from the house’s storied archive. This is not a flashy Dior collection, but it is solid, and that’s not a complaint.
