Frankly, this is amazing — and good for Dior that they have the money to fly everyone out to Egypt and stage a fashion show at the FLIPPING ACTUAL PYRAMIDS, the first one ever, per Vogue. Vogue goes on to note:

“My interest in ancient Egypt is about the stars and the sky,” [men’s artistic director Kim] Jones wrote in the show notes. “It links to Christian Dior in that sense and by way of his fascination with symbols and superstitions that recur throughout his life and work.”… Some 23 local companies employing 700 worked on the show, says Étienne Russo, founder of the show production company behind it, Villa Eugénie. Set materials, including fabrics in Egyptian cotton, were sourced locally.

I absolutely want a logistics explainer on how much work it took to put this together. What a thrilling press trip for everyone who attended. (Heather and her husband and I went to Egypt in 2008; it was truly a mesmerizing and amazing vacation that I’m very glad we did.)

Oh! Right! The clothes — we’re definitely going to see some of these on a very wide variety of celebrities. Let’s dig in.
