She looks fantastic in this. But more important than any outfit is the fact I learned last night (thanks to Samantha Powell) that Celine’s masterwork, “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” is based on Wuthering Heights. That explains a lot. That song also has a compelling Wikipedia page, which led me to the video for the original recording of the song (by a group called Pandora’s Box), which was directed by Ken Russell (who directed many things, including some wacked out music videos for Phantom of the Opera that I shared here last year, and whose Wiki is also a wild ride). IT IS INSANE and terrible and amazing and not really safe for work, so consider yourself warned:

It seems like it’s just going to be spoken word over weird still photos for a while there at the beginning, but stick with it. I do not recall ritual sacrifices and orgies in Wuthering Heights, but it’s been a while. Fun fact: Wiki claims most of these dancers are from the original London cast of Cats. Which also makes sense because allegedly Wuthering Heights! The Musical was going to be Andrew Lloyd Weber production. I can actually fully imagine that happening.

I also learned on Twitter last night that Jeremy Jordan also has performed this song, and I offer his truly spectacular rendition as a way to cleanse your palate from the above:

I do sincerely love this song, although — all due respect to Meatloaf — Celine’s rendition remains the gold standard:

YES THIS POST IS JUST ALL VIDEOS OF “IT’S ALL COMING BACK TO ME NOW.” I regret nothing.

It is, however, coming back to me now that Celine changed from the red carpet to present Album of the Year:

The 59th GRAMMY Awards - Show

She looks tremendous.
