First: She can promote this because it’s not a struck project and SAG isn’t in conflict with its studio.

Second: She does look very young, but is in fact 25.

Third: Apparently, Priscilla is excellent and not particularly pro-Elvis, which I know was a matter of concern last time this was discussed. (Or, at least, is not a hagiography of Elvis; it seems nuanced, which is what I would expect from Sofia Coppola.)

Fourth:  While I think Cailee looks very pretty here, and this is a good dress objectively speaking, if I were her stylist, I think I’d veer away from anything even remotely retro. I’m not saying that I’d put her into something insanely editorial, or like a one-legged catsuit with a box on her head, but this specific sort of look feels tonally similar to the role she’s promoting, and this film is basically her big break — now is you want to establish her as her own personality. (Margot Robbie, on the other hand, could really go for it with Barbie because she’s already so personally established as a celebrity.) Do you agree? I’d be interested to hear.

Fifth: I actually really love this detail, which I can only describe as Boob Chandelier.

But I realize I might be bananas for that.
