I am pathologically unable to remember that the designer here is DEMNA, not DENMA. I finally decided my trick is going to be that it’s spelled the same way as DAMN, and I’ll just have to hope I don’t write “Damna” by mistake. Also, unrelated, the first model (not pictured above) looks like John Oliver playing the role of Lady Gaga. I don’t know why that’s true, but it is. You’ll see.

The show is very busy; W interpreted that as a rumination on overstimulation, but Fashionista reported that Demna’s own show notes — which I guess also existed in audio form? — said he was looking at luxury and true creativity as one and the same: things that are in short supply right now. And I guess turning pants into a shirt, bags into separates, and backpack into a dress IS creative?!? But is it necessary? I guess luxury items like Balenciaga, by definition, are not. So maybe that fits.
