This is a perfect outfit for when you’re spending your summer afternoon at — and on — a panel discussion. The fabrics are luxe, so the dress still looks like you put a lot of money and effort into it even though it’s still relaxed. When she sits down, you’ll still be able to see all that gorgeous embroidery and the bright shoes, and when she stands up again you likely won’t notice if she’s wrinkled because you’re still staring at the garden blooming beautifully on her hem. It’s possible zero thought went into this, and she just threw on something she loved, but it reads like an intelligent and carefully made choice. Either she’s good at this, or she stumbled into excellence. I personally am all ABOUT fluking into things that make me look smart, so for me that’s a win-win.
