I’ve always had a soft spot for this movie. Apparently, they considered Gwyneth, Renee Zellweger, and Hilary Swank before settling on Jennifer Garner, and I can’t imagine this having worked as well with any of them. Gwyneth would have shit all over it later in the press (as she did with her OWN Mark Ruffalo comedy, A View From The Top), Renee is too indelibly Bridget, and Hilary Swank… I mean, maybe? She DID do that arc on 90210 where she sold a deep affection for Steve Sanders. But I think this landed in the hands it should have. Herein, some shots of the costumes, and from the premiere.
