I suspect, for a minute anyway, a lot of the posts about Zendaya will involve, “But how involved was Law?” Even he took to Instagram, after putting up a couple posts, to clarify that both of them were styled for this event by the designer, Rahul Mishra. For his part, Mishra was careful to add “Creative direction by Law Roach” to his own Instagram captions. Now, Law obviously never needs to justify it to anyone if he decides to style Zendaya from head to toe — she’s his lobster ,after all — but apparently whatever Law normally would do is not what he did here. Whether that means he brokered the connection with Mishra, or gave parameters, or broad strokes, and then let Mishra do his thing… I don’t know. I welcome an interview someday where Law lays out the logistics, because you know how we feast upon those. Anyway, however it came about: It’s marvelous. It was smart to contact, or accept the invitation of, Rahul Mishra. Yes, his work is beautiful. But the opening of this cultural center was a big deal in Mumbai, and Mishra is not only an Indian designer of renown, but the first one ever to be invited to Couture Week in Paris. He’s the ideal choice for a custom look that pays homage to where you are and why you’re there, and as usual, Zendaya gleams.

That fabric is phenomenal and ethereal and dreamy. I’m very sad that we didn’t have photos of Law, because just LOOK how resplendent he is here (use the link if Instagram embeds don’t show up for you):

Absolutely gorgeous. And, just FYI, Law shared a post from a Zendaya fan account that showed him inside with Z and Tom Holland, so they’re still very much on, in case you were wondering. I was! He seems like such a good person, and I like the idea of them together so much. In all, a win of a night for anyone on Team Zendaya.
