This is either the same shirtdress Anne Hathaway wore, but styled differently and without the corset bra, or it’s an evolution of it. Surely Zac Posen would not need to make TWO thoroughly mediocre, messy, and tragic shirt-dresses for The Gap, because even the ONE does not bode well for his tenure there. I disliked it on Anne and I dislike it now. I wonder if he will even sell this in stores; maybe he’s just dangling it for us to lower our expectations, making them easier to exceed? Let’s go with that. I do at least applaud Julia for trying to give this some ’80s Vogue panache with the hat. That’s the only interesting thing about it.
