The enduring friendship of Sydney Bristow and her father is one of my favorite outcomes of Alias, including the actual outcome of Alias. These two adore each other and have been there for each other throughout these 20 years — DEAR GOD, WHAT IS TIME — and as you know, I find these true friendship love stories to be just as delightful, if not more, than celebrity romances. And their last names are only one letter apart! It’s fate.
What are the real-life, documented celebrity friendships that you find the most charming? Not the Taylor Swift’s Girl Gang scenario, because I truly cannot tell how much of ANY of that was for publicity all-around and how much was genuine, although I think she and Blake Lively are true actual pals. People are on a real Matt Damon/Ben Affleck kick right now, too, because of Air. Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple seem to adore each other in a sincere way. There’s also: which ones do you wish and hope the hardest would be true blue, if you could wave a wand? Whose on-screen chemistry charms you so much that you want them to be real-life BFFs? I cannot lie — I am sad that Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang are not, by any appearances, actually close. But maybe that makes their seasons of Grey’s that much more perfect.
