I am not sure if you’re aware of this, but the American presidential election is one week from today! (I AM KIDDING. I am quite sure you all know. If you haven’t voted yet, this is a great place to find your polling places, either for early voting, or for election day. That site will also give you dropboxes where you can drop off your mail-in ballot, which you should do ASAP if that’s how you plan to vote!) And so what better time to take a look back at the history of White House weddings, of which there have been 18. I do not, as you might imagine, have images of all of these blessed events. I do need to tell you that the names of those photo-less grooms include both Alphonse Pageot and Algernon Sartoris. In my mind, they’re both wearing a monocle. Olden times!  Let’s look at some nuptials — including two truly GIANT cakes.
