This shot is from Queen’s “The Game” tour in 1980. Back in 2015 the AV Club spoke to a photographer from that night and had it confirmed that this happened during “We Will Rock You” — typically the first song in the encore, chased by “We Are The Champions” and “God Save the Queen.” That same article says Freddie sometimes came out sitting on Superman’s shoulders instead, but this photo is so much funnier to me. Vader looks so proud, and defiant, and quilted. And semi-homemade, and committed to giving you a flash of forearm.
