Once you’ve done this job as long as I have, there comes a point where a new actor bursts onto the scene in a giant movie, and she gets alllll kinds of press and attention and the spotlight at premieres and she goes on all the nighttime chat shows and Elle or whatever writes a story about her hair, and your main thought is, “mmkay, we’ll see if this one sticks.” Because I can’t count the number of times I’ve covered someone for two weeks straight, only to hardly ever see her again — like, say, Nicola Peltz, who was in Transformers 4: Yeah, There WAS A Transformers 4. That’s not a slam on Gadot, who is extremely pretty, and whose acting work I have never seen in anything, so I cannot judge it. I’m just saying: The publicists assigned to these blockbusters are real good at their jobs, and the next thing you know, someone you’ve never heard of, and who hardly anyone has ever seen act, is The Next Big Thing. That’s where we are right now — although, for what it’s worth, most people who’ve seen the movie have said she’s quite good in it. Fingers crossed.

Oh, also, she looks great in this dress and has in fact looked great throughout most of this press tour (she’s being styled by Micaela Erlanger) . That’s something, and I’m not being sarcastic.
